1 2 medium potato thinly sliced

2 ¾ cup besan 

3 2 tbsp rice flour

4 ¼ tsp turmeric 

4 ¼ tsp turmeric 

5 ½ tsp kashmiri red chilli powder

6 ½ tsp garam  masala

7 pinch of hing / asafoetida 

8 1 tsp ginger garlic paste (optional) 

9  Salt for taste    

10 1/4 teaspoon carom seeds

11 1/2 cup water

12 oil for frying

13 1/4 teaspoon eno

14 1/4 teaspoon chat masala 


  1. Firstly,wash, peel and slice the potato slice thinly.
  2. rinse in cold water to remove starch from potatoes.
  3. Now take a big bowl and add gram flour,rice flour ,salt, carom seeds,turmeric powder,red chilli powder, garam masala,ginger garlic paste and add some water and make a smooth  batter without lumps..
  4. Also, add eno  and mix gently. do not over mix.
  5. make sure the batter is flowing consistently
  6. Heat oil in a pan.
  7. Coating the potato slice in batter and gently sliding to hot oil. Fry them until they turn golden brown and crisp. 
  8. Remove the pakora on the kitchen paper towel.
  9. Sprinkle some chaat masala over the pakora.
  10. Serve and enjoy warm pakora with tomato ketchup or mint chutney.
