For Batter

1 1 cup soji

2 Salt to taste

3 ¼ spoon eno

4 1 tbsp  ginger, chilly paste

For Tadka

1 1 tbsp oil

2 6-8 curry leaves

3 ½ tbsp sesame seeds

4 ¼ tsp turmeric powder

 For Stuffing

1 2 boiled potato

2 ½ tsp red chilli powder

3 1 tbsp ginger chilli paste

4 1 tsp garam masala

5 1 tbsp chopped cilantro

6 salt to taste

7 1 tsp lemon juice


1 Take an idli  batter ingredient in a bowl except eno and mix well and keep aside for 20 minutes.

2 Take another bowl and add boil mash potato,red chilli powder, ginger chilli powder ,garam masala,salt, lemon juice. Chopped calintro  mix well.and make roll shape.

3 Now heat up the idli steamer, add water and grace the plate with oil.

4now add eno into the idli batter and mix well.

5 pour just a little spoon of idli batter on the plate and a masala roll in the center and pour a spoon full of batter and cover it. And close the lid.

6  After keeping the flame low to medium for 10-15 minutes . after turn off the flame and little cooled down

7 Now take it out carefully and keep it on a plate.

8 Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds,curry leaves, sesame seeds when they pop, then add salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and disc idli covered in it nicely and evenly.

9Take them out and cut into the disc idli. Serve and Enjoy hot Disc Idli with green chutney or coconut chutney!!!
